We are 7 months old!

Wow! 7 months! I can't believe it. Claire hit 15 pounds the other day and Jack tripled his birth weight at 17 pounds 14 oz. Both babies are babbling up a storm and eating stage 2 baby food. Jack as we all know is crawling and just starting sitting by himself for prolonged periods of time yesterday. Claire actually was sitting yesterday too, but hasn't started crawling yet. She rolls back and forth and plays with her toys. It is just amazing how fast they grow up!!

Just darn cute

Okay so I am biased, but come on...they are just adorable aren't they? Claire Bear starting rolling more than ever this weekend. She is starting to get the hang of it. Jack is trying to pull himself up now. He still isn't really interested in sitting up by himself. I think he could do it (see picture above), but he gets so anxious to get out there and crawl that he doesn't do it for very long. Figures. Looks like we have an active one on our hands. Luckily there is a baby proofer coming soon to baby proof our house.
The second picture is what I call the "jailhouse" look. Jack is looking through the bars of his crib...he also likes to take his pacifier and run it across the bars to make noise like he is in jail or something. It is really cute. Claire just likes to kick and use her fingernails to scratch the sheets and make noise. She hasn't tried to peer through the bars yet, but I know it is coming soon!!

A smile a day

No real news to report...except that mommy and daddy had their first real date in 6 months yesterday (it was daddy's birthday). It felt weird leaving the kids with a babysitter, but she did great. Here are a couple of pictures of the babies smiling to hopefully brighten someone's day...

We love green beans!

Green veggies seem to be popular in the Kendall household. Green beans and peas are now the two favorites and apples are a close second. Jack Tom will smile and laugh every time I would come near him with a spoon of green beans. He gobbles it up. Claire used to not like peas that much, but she seems to have warmed up to them and now can eat a whole container by herself.

Nick just put together their high chairs this weekend. Boy, high chairs aren't like they used to be. These have all kinds of gadgets and toys you can add on to make food time more fun (as if putting your hand in your mouth and rubbing sweet potatoes all over yourself isn't enough fun).

And we have a crawler...

But it is an ugly crawl. I guess the point is, though, it gets Jack from point A to point B. He gets up on one knee tries to move the other knee forward, usually falls and pulls himself with his arms and then starts again. He started this on Saturday and now he has two big red spots on both of his knees. He is pretty quick, though. I turned around for a second and he was across the room. Claire isn't quite interested yet, but she still loves her swing (and eating her own feet).

The picture above is Jack Tom. He is naked because he insists on trying to crawl when I am trying to put on my diaper. Believe me, this is not easy. He is very strong. So on Sunday I just let him crawl around a little while without it. Very cute. The other pic is Claire Bear happily playing in her swing.

To nap or to crawl...that is the question

Jack Tom is trying to crawl these days. It is really funny because he doesn't quite get it yet. He gets on his hands and knees and tries to scoot, but hasn't crawled quite yet. Mainly he just falls flat on his face. He doesn't give up, though. In fact, he works until he is actually napping (as you can see from the above picture). That is how he fell asleep today (after my numerous attempts to get him to sleep on his boppy, crib or me failed). Anyway, anyone want to make bets on when he is actually going to crawl? I already have a pool going for when they will get their first teeth...

Exciting Weekend!

This weekend was very eventful for the twins. On Saturday we went to the mall. Mommy did some shopping for herself (I haven't bought any new clothes since I was pregnant), and Daddy strolled the babies around. They really had a good time. Sunday, the babies got baptized. They both did great and didn't cry at all (atlhough Jack tried to push the preacher away when the water landed on his head). Then, we all went to a restaurant for the very first time. We had fish and fries, the babies had Similac :) Overall it was a great weekend.
