We are 8 months old!!

Yesterday was their 8 month birthday. Before you know it they will be a year old!!

Lately they have been learning how to drink from a sippy cup and trying more and more new foods (I haven't found anything that they spit out at me yet...). We are still working on finger foods. They don't quite understand that yet. They don't really get the concept of chewing, but I know it will come soon.

Last weights (as of 9/27) were Jack 19 pounds 2 oz and Claire 16 pounds 9 oz

Getting bigger and stronger....

Nothing really new to report. Babies are growing and getting stronger. Jack is now 19 pounds and Claire Bear is 16 and 1/2 pounds (closing the gap!!). Claire still doesn't feel like crawling yet. I guess it will happen someday (or maybe not...maybe she will go straight to walking). Jack has stood on his own for a couple of seconds but then quickly topples over. His teeth are really coming in (and he is drooling a lot, so I think some more are coming).

They are getting so big!!! Claire is now 16 pounds 3 oz and Jack is 18 pounds and 9 oz. Wow. They have over tripled their birth weights (Claire is probably going to quadruple hers by a year).

They just amaze me everyday with all the new things they are learning and doing. Above see how Jack is trying to get the mobile attached to Claire's crib. Claire is laughing at him I think...

Uncle Jimmy comes to visit!!

Uncle Jimmy (my twin brother) comes to visit the twins for the first time since March!!! They have grown so much. He looks like a real natural in the pictures doesn't he. Don't let him fool you, though, he was already trying to corrupt my children :)

The last picture shows off Jack's present from his Uncle Curt (Nick's brother). He looks great in his new UNC hat doesn't he?? Too bad he will be going to Indiana U when the time comes.

Teef!!!

Jack has cut two teeth on the bottom! The one on the right you can actually see (although I couldn't get a good picture of it). I can feel both of them really well. I am surprised he hasn't been fussier with them. I guess I should count my blessings that they aren't both teething at once. I don't see or feel any teeth on Claire at all yet.

Claire's big milestone has been sitting by herself recently. She can do it for about 4-5 minutes without toppling over. Here is a picture above.

The children get ambitious

So grandma comes for the weekend, and they feel they need to show off I guess. Jack is starting to pull himself up to stand and now he feels like he can do anything. He is trying to climb on everything like a little monkey. I think Nick may have been a tiny bit ahead of himself by trying to get him to ride a bike, though (see pic above). Claire can't pull herself up yet, but when you put her in a standing position where she can hold on, she can stay that way for quite a while (and seems to really like it).
