First Plane Ride !

The kids went on the their first plane ride on 11/23 (we went home to Indiana for Turkey day). It was definitely an experience (I think more so for us than for them). First, Claire thought she was Miss America in the airport. She waved to everyone and wanted to run up and down the airport halls yelling"wait" and "hey" and "yay!" She was actually fine on the plane (very quiet and calm and watched "Melmo (elmo)." Jack, on the other hand, was very calm in the airport (he loved his "backpack "-- a monkey that has long tail that we can hold on to so he can't get too far). He was so fasinated with the tail, that he didn't try to run, but on the plane he was a little wiggle-worm. I think Nick and I lost about 5 pounds in sweat just trying to keep him under control.

Here are some more pictures from our trip as well. There is so much that I could share -- they had fun trying to play the piano. Claire danced a lot. Neither one of them wanted to eat much (mainly just rolls and some corn (or as Claire calls it "corns."). Both of them were extremely exhausted after barely sleeping in the hotels. When we got home they both passed out in their crib...

We are 20 months old!

We are doing so much. Claire can say two word sentences (my favorite is "big boy" when describing Jack). They can imitiate just about any word/sound. Jack is climbing all over the place and opening doors (he has even figured out some of the "baby-proofed" doorknobs. He is so smart. We weighed them yesterday. Claire is 24 pounds 12 ounces and Jack is 27 pounds 9 oz...

Jack's favorite toy right now is the Swiffer Sweeper...he loves to swiffer the floor. Today he spilled some breakfast on the floor and just swept it right up! He also has learned to outsmart some of our door knob covers. He can open just about any door in the house. I think we are in trouble! Claire may have started the terrible twos early...when she doesn't want/like something, she shakes her head and goes "uh uh." I don't know where she learned that. Generally, though, she is very nuturing. She carries her bears with her everywhere she goes and calls them "baby." She collects them before going to bed or going to go eat (and tries to feed them at meal time).

Words galore

Now that kids are without pacifiers (except nap time and night time), they are talking up a storm! They probably know about 50 words (and know sign language for at least 20). Some of my favorites are when Claire bosses Jack around ("No, Jack" or "Move" are some things she likes to say). They are also repeating just about everything (or at least trying). The other day I gave them toast for breakfast and they kept saying "toast" all morning.

New Pajamas

Jack is really into Elmo now, so we decided to get him some new Elmo pajamas. Too cute. Claire looks very lady-like in her new jammies too. Check it out

Were 18 months old!

Can you believe how big they are getting??! I didn't weigh them yesterday, but I will this week. They are doing all kinds of amazing things. Claire knows sign language for about 20 words. Jack can more than that. The recognize all kinds of things. They both like their feet a lot. Yesterday they kept throwing my socks at me until I put them on their feet (see above). They thought it was really fun to slide around our floors in my socks :)

Just a compilation of pictures from last few days. Claire is obssessed with hats as much as Jack is with shoes (one pic he has Miss Trish's shoes on). Then, as many parents find out, we buy hundreds of dollars worth of kids toys just to find them playing with the boxes. Finally...they were pretending to cuddle up for a nap on the floor. I am not sure why Jack felt he needed a spatula to do that...
